Paid Family and Domestic Violence leave update

Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave – starts 1 February 2023

*Attention employers with more than 15 employees*: From 1 February 2023, your employees will have a new entitlement to 10 days of paid family and domestic violence leave (FDV leave). The new paid FDV leave replaces the current 5 days of unpaid leave.

FDV leave is available to full-time, part-time, and casual employees upfront and isn’t pro-rated. Regardless of their start date, FDV will be immediately available to them.

FDV leave is available in a 12-month period, although it doesn’t accumulate from year to year.

If you’re a small business, this entitlement commences on 1 August 2023.

Get in touch with CER if you’d like further information or help with managing any FDV leave requests.
